Way to Go, Jack!

Jack has been hoping to win a little weekly "contest" in his Kindergarten classroom. He came home with tears a couple of weeks ago because he didn't win. Every week the teacher makes a "Predictable Chart" in which the students have to complete a sentence--the same sentence for each student. For example, "My favorite color is . . . " On Wednesday or Thursday of the week, each student must come to the chart and point to each word as he/she reads his/her sentence. The teacher lets the loudest boy and the loudest girl get a treat from the candy jar! Well, Jack Crain finally WON the Predictable Chart contest!!! He was the LOUDEST boy!!! Way to go, Jack!! He was very proud of himself! It was a good day!




Rachel and I have been babysitting our little friend, Isabelle Grace--Izzie, for short--this week. We have had lots of fun with her! Rachel makes her smile really big! She loves to wave to Izzie and touch her little toes. It's fun to watch them interact with each other. Izzie belongs to Mrs. Collins, Jack's teacher and my good friend! I teamed with her when I was teaching. Izzie was born August 4, 2007 so she and Rachel are about 8 months apart. I'm sure Rachel will teach her many things over the next few months!
