Rachel had her 1-year check-up on Monday. She does NOT like to go to the doctor. Anytime a nurse or doctor would come in the room, she would smile at her and then immediately grab on to me for safety. As the doctor was trying to listen to her lungs, Rachel tried to push the doctor's arm away. Not a cooperative patient! She had to get 4 shots--almost 5! 3 of the shots were immunizations and 1 shot was the second dose of the flu vaccine. The doctor moved one of the immunizations to the next visit so Rachel wouldn't have to get 5 shots at once. 4 is too many!!! Rachel weighs 19 lbs. 9 oz and is 28 1/2 inches long. She is in the 25th percentile in both areas. The doctor recommended keeping her on formula until she starts getting most of her nutrients from food. Then we can start giving her whole milk. Rachel is not too crazy about textured foods, but she LOVES bread!! We are working on switching to a sippy cup instead of the bottle, but she's not loving that either! She knows how to take a drink, but she won't always swallow it. She's so happy that she got a drink that she smiles and it rolls back out of her mouth. She's not interested after a couple of tries. We'll keep working on it!
We are so thankful to have 2 healthy children!!

Caity never liked the doctor either (and still doesn't)! That is sooo sweet about the sippy cup. I never thought I'd say this, but I sure miss those baby days! It's hard work, especially when you're trying to get them to do something new. Enjoy every minute!
