Science Experiments

Jack has missed 2 days of school this week because he has been sick. When he found out that he missed a couple of Science experiments at school, he was sad. He LOVES Science! So I talked to his teacher about the experiments and we did them at home today. His class has been learning about the states of matter--solid, liquid, and gas. Last night, Jack put a cup of water in the freezer. This morning, he put the ice from the cup in a bowl and melted it with a hair dryer. He knew that he turned a liquid into a solid and then back into a liquid. Then, he poured water in a pot and we boiled it to make steam. He knew that he turned a liquid into a gas. We had lots of fun doing Science together!! Jack decided that he wanted to put the rest of the ice in the boiling water to see how fast it would melt!

How lucky for Jack! None of the other students got to actually hold the hair dryer!!! Hope you feel better soon so we can see you back at school on Tuesday!
