Walk to Remember 2008

On September 21, I participated in the Walk to Remember for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness. This was the 4th year for the Walk. Jodie, Izzie, Molly, and Maguire came to participate, too. It was a really nice event. We walked a Memory Mile and then after that there was a short presentation. Names of lost babies were read aloud and parents got to choose an ornament in remembrance to take home. The ornament has a tag tied to it that reads Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy - Eskimo Legend. When all the names had been read, we released yellow balloons while a newer version of "Over the Rainbow" played. I plan to participate in this Walk every year. Here are a few pictures.
